SEN

Children and young people with SEN all have learning difficulties or disabilities that make it harder for them to learn than most children and young people of the same age. These children and young people may need extra or different help from that given to others.

On 1st September 2014 a new SEN Code of Practice was introduced which saw the implementation of significant changes to how support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities is provided in England.

Look at the SEN information report to find out how Limehurst Academy will support children with Special Educational Needs.

The SEND co-ordinator at Limehurst is Miss Alex Mauger, who is on the school's senior leadership team.  We also have an assistant SEND co-ordinator, Miss Melita Barnsdale.  They can be contacted via email using sendteam@limehurst.org.uk

For more information on the changes to the SEN Code of Practice and what that means for students and parents, please read through ”SEN Reforms – Guide for Parents.”

The links below provide specific information about the provision available in Leicestershire.

Below is a letter written to parents from the Department for Education outlining the changes.
