World Of work day
Published 31/03/23On our recent World of Work day all our Y10 students were able to have a first-hand experience of a workplace. During the W.O.W. day we took the students out of the classroom and into the workplace to highlight the opportunities available to them when they leave school or college. They spent the day looking at career prospects in a particular industry sector of their choice. Looking at different jobs available and the skills needed to be successful. The sectors we visited were Law at Leicester Town Hall, Art and Design at LCB Depot in Leicestershire, Public Services at RAF Wittering and Health Care at De Montfort University.
Both staff and students loved the day, for the variety of activities that we were able to participate in and the widening of skills, knowledge and horizons!
The day was organised by L.E.B.C an independent charity, who work with employers, schools and colleges with the aim of helping young people to prepare for working life.
