Y10 and Y11 Army Engagement Day

On Friday 13th September, some Year 10 and Year 11 students got to spend time with the British Army, learning about different careers such as working in infantry, the Army Police and the HR department. Students were able to ask questions about what life is like in the Army and got to learn about how a career in the Army could benefit them. They then engaged in some Dragon’s Den style teamwork tasks, building stretchers in one session, and the tallest towers they possibly could in another! It was great to see such enthusiasm, engagement and teamwork skills.

Year 9 Young Enterprise Day

On Monday 7th October, half of Year 9 got to spend the day off timetable with Young Enterprise! Students worked in groups all day and learnt about lots of different parts of running a business, including marketing, product development and finance. Then, they had to create their own business model, thinking about everything from how they would cover rent and pay their employees, to what products they would develop, to how they would market their business. The day culminated in a Dragon’s Den style presentation to their peers and a panel of Dragons, to try and win an award! It was a really enjoyable, inspiring day and we look forward to the other half of Year 9 getting to give it a go in November.
